4 Reasons to Consider Saying YES to a First Look!

Deciding to have a first look allows you as a couple to have a private moment together before the excitement of the day begins. This intimate moment begins before the ceremony and before guests arrive. Every bride and Groom we have seen over the years are nervous. So deciding on the First Look will help alleviate those pre wedding nerves and allow you to be more relaxed during your ceremony. Wedding photos take up a good part of your day so one advantage of saying YES to a First Look is that all the portraits and group photos can be taken before the ceremony. This will allow more time for your reception. If you choose Antler Ridge weddings as your venue and decide on the First look, you will ulltimately have more time to enjoy a specialty cocktail hour with hors d'ouevres in our outdoor log gazebo, or maybe have more time to mingle with your guests on our spacious outdoor lawn area before going into the reception area to be seated. Lastly, having photos taken before your ceremony allows more flexibility in managing your wedding day schedule allowing you to prioritize all the golden hour photos. And you won't want to miss the sunsets at Antler Ridge Weddings!! They are truly the best on the Western Slope.

HOW TO PLAN YOUR FIRST LOOK

Now,that you have decided on having a First Look you need to inform your Photographer. Next consider, who will do the revealing. Most often we see the bride approaching the groom but we have seen where both couples turn at the same time. Location is important. At Antler Ridge, we have several areas to choose from: a private garden area, the dock over the pond with the backdrop of the mountains, infront of an Antique Truck, but where ever you choose it is important to consider the backdrop for your intimate photo. Consider having your favorite song playing to bring back all the emotions and to set the mood.Whether you choose to have a First Look or not either way works. It is toltally up to you.
